Loving Boys and Making Cookies

It's been a busy, but really fun week. I had the whole week off because one of my clients computers was down with viruses, so I was at home with the girls the entire time. We did a lot of fun activities to get us in the mood for Halloween, and I've really been enjoying myself...I hope the kids have too. (speaking of Halloween, doesn't Emersyn make a perfect little Kittie?)

Yesterday Adelynn was in the kitchen singing songs from "The Little Mermaid" and "Madagascar" and then she started singing from "Enchanted". She started out singing it right as "how will you know, he loves you", but soon it turned into "I love you Boys."!!! Caleb and I were cracking up big time. Caleb says "Do you love boys Adi?" Adi says "uh huh!" Daddy said "Why do you love boys?" Adi says "Princess loves Prince, get married." heheh, good explanation. She's so cute!
I guess though, that she better think twice about how she treats boys if she is going to LOVE them. See, last week she went to play with Kayson and Logan (which she begs for at least 20 times a week) and she ended up smacking Kayson in the eye with something and making him bleed, and giving him a black eye!!!I was horrified, and the funny thing is...Adi was too! When she saw the picture of the eye, she said "oh no, Kayson owie!" Chrisit said he probably had it coming, but that is no excuse. Craig Storer(my neighbor, and Kaysons grandpa) says he's proud, and we need to teach the girls while they are young to control those boys, and that he's going to get Adi boxing gloves for Christmas. Oh boy! Well, we felt terrible, so Tuesday we made some halloween cookies with the intent to take some to Kayson and Logan....
Hilarious, she's eating the cookies she just finished for my sister!Frosting the cookies. She loved this part, as she ate handfuls of frosting when mommy wasn't looking!Being a good girl, helping mommy mix up the frosting. She was good at it too!The cookies so neatly put on the cookie sheet. Notice that one is missing? Yeah, can you guess where it is?Look at that smile! We're so proud. Job well done!

So we took some plates to various people, (she chose who, which was really cute because she called my brother Craig and said "Craig, Adi making cookies! come over.") and Kayson and Logan were included so that she could apologize again. When we took them over she tried eating their cookies too! So was it a sincere apology...I think so. The cookies were just too irresistible!
Anyway, I guess the good side to it all is that she won her first battle :) hehe, just kidding.

Couple Random Thoughts

I just got on our blog to post a.... posting? (Whatever the term is? I guess post the posting will work) and our playlist was playing... oh good gracious! How redundant! Anyway, the song Fade Into You was on. It got me thinking that I hope we still get our picks of music when in Heaven. (I realize that is presumptuous of me, cuz I may not make it to Heaven with my Gladiator-type fetish, if you know what I mean "wink, wink"). Cuz I do not know what I would do without Mazzy Star, and ESPECIALLY Fade Into You. It has been one of my most favorite songs for as long as I can remember... or at least for 15 years. I could listen to it 10 times in a row, and then push the track-back button and have another go 10 times. Tori Amos is another artist that just somehow works for me every single time. There are some artists that are fads-of-the-time, and there are others who are simply everlasting. I won't list all of them, cuz frankly, a few on my personal list could be considered appalling (spl?) by many. (I have at least managed to slip a few in on this playlist without Ash getting too upset. You know that look - the one that says, "Okay... I'll let this one slide, but you are still in trouble, bucko." :-) )
To sum up, if you don't know about Mazzy Star: Fade Into You, I suggest you expose yourself to it. And if you don't care for it, well then, I suggest you listen to it a few more times. It will come. I assure you. It will come. And then follow it with Sneaker Pimps: Six Underground.
Yours Trully,
Have a good summer,
I hated having you in Science Class but I am signing your yearbook regardless and I don't know why,
-Caleb

Oh ya, and if you happen to have a Literary Agent or Publisher hiding in your closet, please drag them out and ask them to whip me up a contract. That would be just peachy, thanks.

Pretty in Purple!

I just think Emersyn is so pretty in purple! I love it. Her quilt that Grandma Witters made her is purple, and after bath one day she was put in a purple onesie. When she was laying there with her crazy hair stickin' up all wide eyed, I couldn't help but want to snap a picture! She's so cute! And do you love the hair? It has a ton of curl in it, so if you don't do something right away..POOF, this is what you get. Absolutely adorable!

Wedding fun

This last weekend was one of my best friends wedding, and it was great. So I just wanted to post some pictures and say Congrats to Josie and Adam! She was gorgeous, and her husband seems wonderful, and as an extra bonus a lot of us friends from high school got to see each other and visit! You were a beautiful bride Jo, and I am so happy for you guys. Best of luck in the future!I think this picture is adorable!
So happy they can't contain themselves!
A few of us girls at the temple.
Some of us friends that made it to the reception with the gorgeous bride!

New Portraits

So before my mom left, when Emersyn was only a week old, we took the girls to JCPenny with a coupon to get some pics of her while she was so little. Here are the results. (I am posting them in sepia, because I really thought they turned out great that way, but you can check out my side-bar for the colored ones of the girls.)

Am I not the luckiest Mom (and Caleb the luckiest Dad) in the World?!

The Last 2 Weeks

It's been a busy 2 weeks, and my internet has been down, so I haven't been able to blog about it. So sorry to those of you who have been waiting to see the whole reason it's been busy...Emersyn is here!It was a great Labor and Delivery. Everything went very smoothly, and I feel great. Just one contraction and 3 pushes, and Emersyn Sade Wall was born. How nice! She weighed 7 lbs 5 oz. was 20 inches long, and has a beautiful head of hair! HOORAY!Adelynn was so excited when we came home from the hospital and her baby sister was finally here. She kissed her and hugged her and pretty much attacked her. It was very sweet though. She is having a little bit of a time adjusting, but it isn't directed toward her sister at all. It's defiance directed toward her mommy, but she is very excited about "baby Emi".
Big kisses for baby sister. I think Emi has had a lot of those these last 2 weeks!
After her first sponge bath. Eyes wide open and lookin' so cute!Grandma Witters spent the week with me taking care of any slack that I couldn't pick up. She was a huge help, and it was so fun to have her here as well! Emi looks pretty fond of her don't you think? It's a special privelage to be allowed in the "princess chair" and Adi was quick to make sure baby Emi got to sit with her in it. How nice of her to share!
And here is Adi occupying Daddy's time by making him play dress up. He'll be great with two little girls, don't you think? I love my two little girls!!!
Saying goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa. It was hard, but I managed to keep my tears in check until they left because I knew if I let myself go, I would never gain control, and wouldn't let my mom go!

Well, after Grandma left and I thought I was getting the hang of things, Emi's eye got infected, and then swelled up SO HUGE so we took her to the Doctor and found out both of her tear ducts are closed. An infection had backed up really bad into the left eye and when the doctor just barely touched it, puss oozed everywhere. Here is a pic of her eye when we first decided to take her to the Doc.
It was so sad. The doctor was very concerned because she is so little, and the infection can apparently get into her spinal column and cause all sorts of problems there, so she was sent straight to the hospital to get an IV for medicine.
We were there for 3 days and 2 nights, and it was pretty sad and quite stressful. And now that it is over, the stressful part isn't. One of the medicines she had to be on can cause hearing loss and kidney damage, so she has to go back in for a hearing test in the next few months I guess. So as if worrying about your newborn with paralysis isn't bad enough, they throw on ya hearing loss, and kidney damage. Gotta love doctors! Anyway, she is looking LOADS better now, and we are back home. She is on an oral antibiotic for the next 10 days, and we will monitor the closed tear ducts for the next 6 months. At least for now they don't have to be opened manually.
Well, there is a catch up of the last 2 weeks. Hopefully with our internet up and running I can keep you all better posted on my 2 little angels.
