Happy Thanksgiving (by Caleb.... so expect the worst)

Happy Thanksgiving! One of my favorite holidays have arrived. It comes during my favorite season and involves food... lots of food! It's great! Those pilgrims had a good thing going on that decided to make a holiday out of eating lots and lots of food. I can just see the conversation; (random pilgrim)-"Hey honey, I think the corn is finally done growing. We can eat now!" (honey)-"IT'S ABOUT TIME! I'M STARVING! I THINK THIS CALLS FOR A HOLIDAY!!!" I could go on, but Ash will probably be reading this sometime soon, so... it is just best I stop there. Anyway, so Thanksgiving - great holiday. But it is also a time to be thankful. On my part I am grateful for a whole lot... I would be more grateful if Ash let me play the playstation a little bit more :-)... but as it is I am grateful for more than I can count: I have an awesome wife! (refer to post below, unless it is now found in "older posts") She is beautiful, funny, intelligent, witty, patient with my "originality", and is a loving mother. I have two beautiful daughters and Adelynn is a riot! (I am sooo worried about when 'boys-come-a-callin' for her. It is going to get violent!) And lets just be honest; I am grateful for kick-butt movies that get one's adrenaline pumpin'. You know, the kind that make you want to fly a jet straight up into an alien ship, or the kind that make you want to put on a manly "gladitor" skirt and fling a sword around. Or the kind that makes you wish your 03 Honda Odyssey would change into a missile-launching bad-to-the-bone robot. And I am grateful for the history-altering Fiesta Bowl some time ago when Boise State took Oklahoma for all they were worth! Why is there not a movie about that yet?! Anyway, this was just a few things I am grateful for. And now I am going to go stretch out, do some warm-ups, and prepare for the big meal. Maybe this year we will go running past one of those police-speed-checkers again. Good times... good times. P.S. Honorable Mention Thank: I am grateful for IPod's, ITunes, and an awesome Playlist that is still not complete. Majority of the songs (But Not anything by Celine Dion) are like the background music to my life... my own personal soundtrack. Seriously, you need to listen closely the next time you are near me. You will probably hear some Chris Isaac, Disturbed, or "Let It Rock" (Kevin Rudolph) - depending on the situation, of course. Kind of weirded me out the first time I noticed my own life-soundtrack, but after getting used to it, I love it. OH YA! And don't let me forget Flight of the Concordes: Business Time. Never gets old. Never.

The New Do...

So apparently I have the hormones of a teenager when I am pregnant and nursing, because I get the notion to do crazy things all too often. And most of the time, it consists of doing something to my hair! Luckily I am the kind of person that deals well with change, and so does my husband. Anyway, if you can't tell yet...well, I chopped my hair off. I am sure you are thinking "what? it is already so short!" Well, it was...but I am not joking...I chopped it off! I know some of you do not like this short of hair, but I tell you what, I am LOVING it! It is fun, and sassy, and really fits me. Caleb thinks it's great, and I am thinking it is a fun change. So anyway, without further delay, here is "the new do". It's short, I know. But I am sure you will all be jealous to hear that it takes me a whopping 10 minutes to blow dry and style my hair, as well as do my make-up. A real plus for me right now with two little ones. Oh, and P.S. as I mentioned above, I AM a crazy hormone machine, so comment only nice things please :)

Happy Birthday Adelynn!

Well it's finally here, and we can officialy say Adi is in the "TERRIBLE TWO'S"! No really I'm teasing, she is a completely sweet and loving little girl...just has a little mind of her own :). We had her birthday party last night, and it was a HUGE success. She is so in love with princesses and fairies, and especially Tinkerbell, so we had a Tinkerbell party for her. It was decorated with Tinkerbell, and she had a Tink cake, as well as Tink crowns...which everyone (including Grandpa) had to put on! She was on 2-year-old cloud nine last night. She had so much fun with all of her cousins and family. And of course the presents were a hit. We got her a play kitchen and some toy food along with a couple new dresses that are completely adorable, and of course shoes to match! Aunt Nanny got her some puzzles(they even make noises!), Grandma and Grandpa Boise(witters) got her a tea-set(princess tea set no less!) Aunt Gayle got her the Tinkerbell Movie(way to go on that one!) and Grandma and Grandpa Wall got her money(they know the way to a girls heart!). And Aunt Kristie and Uncle Cory got her a new outfit which she opened early when they were here. Thanks everyone that came and also everyone that gave gifts. That was way nice of you all. Now here are some pictures of the big event!
Here is her opening her puzzles. Opening presents is so much fun!
Adi with her little tea-set from Grandma. Score on it being princesses Mom! Way to go on that!
Adi and her special Tinkerbell Cake that she was SOOO HAPPY for! I guess 1 1/2 hours of frosting that stupid thing is worth it when it means that much to them.
So anxious to open presents! When is everyone going to get here?! (Notice the tear on the little polka-dot wrapped gift? Yeah, she was getting impatient!)
Here is the little tinkerbell sign that was hanging from the ceiling. I don't know if you can see it that well, but it was cute, and she was thrilled with it.
The unveiling of the BIG GIFT! Woohoo, it's a Kitchen, every womans dream!
Yay, look at my hands, I got MONEY!
Tinkerbell, imagine that. How much better could the day get?!

Adelynn babe, you are the best! We love you so much. You have such a contagious little personality. Your smile makes us laugh. Your bright eyes melt your daddy's heart. You are such a good sister, and an awesome help to your mommy. We love it when you "shake your bootie" and dance for us. And we love it when you sing too. What a beautiful voice you have. Thank you so much for being an example to us and reminding us to say prayers and fold our arms. Your little spirit shines so brightly, always striving to do what is right. We love you honey, and are so glad that you had a happy birthday!

I'm Yellow

You Are a Yellow Crayon

Your world is colored with happy, warm, fun colors.

You have a thoughtful and wise way about you. Some people might even consider you a genius.

Charming and eloquent, you are able to get people to do things your way.

While you seem spontaneous and free wheeling, you are calculating to the extreme.

Your color wheel opposite is purple. You both are charismatic leaders, but purple people act like you have no depth.

Smiles!

Emersyn is growing so fast! She is so smiley and fun. I just love how much she cuddles with me. She is so mellow and calm too. What a joy she is! Anyway, seemings that she is so smiley, I thought I would post some of the first smiles I've been able to catch on camera. (you have to be quick...they come and go on their own at this point! Either that or I'm too busy cooing and smiling back to think to take a picture!) Isn't she gorgeous?!

Meeting Emersyn

The first week of November the Witters Boys all went for their annual hunt. Kristen came down with Cory to Boise, and then drove over here that week to meet Emersyn. It was really fun to see them. Mitchel was as adorable as EVER!!! Him and Adi played so great together, like two little peas in a pod! Thanks for the fun visit guys!Kristen with Emersyn in the cute new outfit that her and Cory got for Emi.
This is when they first arrived and Mitchel was very excited to see her.
This was Mitchel and Adi's favorite toy that weekend. They played with this non-stop.
Saying cheese while sitting on the couch watching a movie. What little turkey's!

Mothers in All Forms

I'm going to go ahead and write an entry this time. I'm not much of a writer, I usually like pictures to describe my feelings and what's going on in my life. This time however, I have a few emotions and memories I want to express. This last Sunday as I was away in Boise my Mother got a phone call saying that her Mother had passed away. It was a very sad time, and I especially feel for my Mom right now. I think that no matter how much you are prepared for something like this, it's still going to hurt.
My Grandma was an amazing woman. She was so strong, and so loving; truly the epitomy of what a grandma should be, and on top of it all...an AMAZING cook! I can remember as a child her always being there for us. Recitals, baptisms, any event really, and she was there. We could count on her that everytime she came she made her most AMAZING caramel popcorn. I remember showing off those times, trying to get her attention by doing the splits, or playing the piano, or anything else I could come up with. She would always make me feel so wonderful by telling me I was talented. Once she even slipped me a $10 bill, and told me to keep up the hard work on the piano. I was THRILLED! She had such a way with making you feel like you were important. I vividly remember Thanksgiving holidays there, and Easter's too. We would arrive and have to walk through the covered porch to get to the house, and inside of the porch there was always LOTS of baked goodies, especially pies! I would always check to make sure there were enough Apple Pies, because they were my FAVORITE!
When I got married, my Grandma insisted on coming up to spend the 3 weeks beforehand with us. She was so sweet. She spent most of those 3 weeks cooking cookies for the reception because she was appalled that cookies weren't on my list of refreshments! Needless to say there were PLENTY of cookies at my reception, and they did indeed turn out to be quite the hit. On another note about my Grandma, I know that she was not only the perfect Grandma, but an amazing Mother as well because I see the love and respect my Mom holds for her. And not only that, but I see the kind of person my Mom is. You know people often say "oh no! I'm turning into my Mother." I honestly could think of nothing I desire more than to be like my Mom. She is a true example of a Disciple of Christ. She is self-sacrificing, and has been her entire life. I often took this for granted while I was young and foolish, but I hope I can work the rest of my life to show her my gratitude for everything she has done for me. She loves her children and grandchildren with all of her heart, and it means the world to them. I see it everytime we are together. I am so grateful for my Mother, and for her Mother. And I hope with all of my heart that I can measure up to be as wonderful as they are.
I love you Grandma. You will be missed. But, I know that the Gospel is true, and that families can be together forever. And for that, I am so grateful.

A Post to Ashley

Ash is away in Boise this weekend for some training in Quickbooks and I miss her. I miss the two "little babes" also(Adi and Emi, I mean; not midget-baywatch chicks), but they tend to steal the show and Ash doesn't get much of the attention. So, I think she deserves a moment in the spotlight.

Hopefully she doesn't get too upset with me because, one: she is going to wonder, "Why don't you show me this kind of attention when I am home?", then two: I am planning on posting numerous pictures of her, and like many people, including myself, she may not appreciate that she didn't get a say on which ones appeared. And three: I have added a bunch of Tori Amos songs to our playlist... as well as maybe one... or two Staind songs :-). Come on! Cut me some slack! They enrich the list! :-) She may see it differently, though. I am prepared to live with the consequences. (Besides, I have been looking through the pictures and I think she looks great in them all!)

So here is my little tribute to my beautiful wife that I love and miss very much. She is classy, but not afraid to play in the park. She is intelligent, but not afraid to go cross-eyed and stick her tongue out at the camera. She knows when to be serious and when to laugh. And she is an AWESOME mother.

I find myself thinking back to when we first met... the Lingerie Department @ Dillards here in Idaho Falls (which is a story for another time), six years ago now. (I think six years... my math was never really good). Then our on-again/off-again relationship for a couple years here and in Boise...
And now here we are!

It has been fun...

...and will continue to be fun!!!

Hmm...

That wasn't enough pictures.

I need a few more.

I have thought vampires were way rad ever since Brad Pitt smashed Christian Slater up against a ceiling - levitating!, mind you - with freaky eyes and teeth bared in Interview with a Vampire ... maybe even longer.))

In the words of Adi, "Love you! Miss you! Catch flip side!"

Now, Ash, if you try to do something foolish, like get even and post pictures of me, you know it will mean War! I will be pissed! Cuz I HATE pictures of me... except that one where I was in that muscular body suit. That was a good one. But NONE others. Lets just call it square and pinky-truce now.
Okay, now it is time for me to go. I just got done building Emi's new baby swing and I am anxious to try it out. If its as good as the advertising says, then I will be catching a few zzz's in no time.

Halloween Fun! (warning, this is long!)

This time of the year is the best! I love all of the festivities, and parties, and activities that come with the Holidays. This year did not dissapoint. It's been such a blast having Adi just a little bit older to do these things with, and having Emersyn along has been great too

This week we made "funny face Pumpkins" together on Monday. I let Adi cut out eyes, and ears, and hair, and noses and mouths out of magazines, and then we re-created them onto her pumpkins making them "funny face pumpkins". We had a great time doing this. We both laughed our heads off.
Here is a random picture I just wanted to post. Adi's hair is finally long enough to pull up!!! HOORAY FOR US!
On wednesday we had a Halloween Party at Caleb's sister's house. It was a ton of fun, and everyone that went had such great costumes. Adi wore her fairy one to this party, although she didn't wear her crown, she ended up wearing her flower instead. They were both cute.
Caleb and I went as Vampires. All of the costumes were great though. We had everything from Pam and Jim (the office) to prince caspian, and fairies, and dinosaurs, and scary skeletons, and ninja's, and princess's and babies, and bucking bronco's, and 80's girl etc. It was great! Thanks for a great party Ani and Spence!

Also this week...Adi and Daddy did some real carving of pumpkins too. Adi enjoyed this a lot as well. Totally messy, but way worth it!

And best of all was Halloween Night!! Trick-or-treating was great. My neighborhood had a trunk-or-treat at the church parking lot. Ariana and Spencer and their kids came with us. I was hesitant about it at first, because I am a traditional person and wanted to do the regular door to door thing, but it turned out awesome! Everyone was so festive, and it really was safe and fun. Adi caught right on to the whole idea, and just took off! She was very polite saying the appropriate "Trick-or-treat" and "thank you!". She got loaded too...towards the end she couldn't even carry her bucket, but when I tried to take it, she said "NO! Adi's!" So she just continued on dragging it. What are we going to do with all of this Candy?!
Adelynn went dressed as a little "Pirate Princess" Halloween night. It was a huge hit. She looked very cute and sweet.
Daddy went dressed like a hippie to work that day, so I dressed like a hippie too for that night(sorry, no pics of that). And cutest of all was little baby Emi as a Leopard.
Here is Adi with her friend Jace. He was so cute and wide eyed for the big event! He was running around, and really getting the hang of things too. I swear, candy is a 6th sense for kids. They totally know what it's all about! The best part was when he ran though, his little tail in the back even wagged!
Adi's cousin and good friend Nadia got to come with us. She was dressed as Lucy, because her brother was Prince Caspian, and her other brother was Aslan. It was real cute.
Later that night when we were handing out more candy to kids at the door, Adi wanted to be scary so she took off her pirate dress, and put on Daddy's scary mask and gloves. It was funny. She wasn't a big fan of all the scary costumes that she saw though.

Anyway, awesome first Holiday of the season, and I can't wait till Thanksgiving!!!
P.S. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa 'Boise' for the cards and candy you sent, and thank you Grandma and Grandpa Wall for the candy and the Happy Halloween Wishes. You helped make their Holiday great!
