Adi the talker

A few of you have commented on how much Adi is talking, so I thought I would take a minute and brag, as well as share some funny things she has said. I suppose here is as good as place as any to document it. Sort of like an online journal as some of you have put it before.
She is really advanced! She talks so much, we wonder when she is ever going to be quiet again sometimes! Not that this should surprise any of you who know Caleb and myself. We were bound to get a social butterfly. She is 22 months old on September 20th. She talks in several word phrases saying things like "momma, shut the door" or "daddy, time for dinner". She articulates very well too. Most everything is pretty easy to understand. She says her own prayers every night (with prompting of course) and loves to sing. She sings "Twinkle, Twinkle" and "The wheels on the bus" and "monkey's jumping on the bed" and many more. It is her favorite thing to have momma and daddy both sing to her at night. She can also count to 10. For a while now she has been going through a phase where she has been skipping number's 5, and 10. Afterwards she will ask when she is done "5 and 10 go?" So we will help her the next time prompting on 5 and 10. It has turned into a bit of a game finding these numbers, but just today she did 1-10 all by herself again.Adi loves to "go shopping, more shoes" or ask daddy for more money to put in her bank. Wonder where she got all of that from? Oh, and just the other day she took a fake credit card that had come in the mail, and walked up to the TV, and ran it down the side saying "swipe!" Good training for her :) She often surprises us with funny, funny things that she says and does. Lately she has been demanding "look at me" when she wants our attention. She says it in a very soft, seductive voice that makes us laugh. Another funny thing she just started is when we are in the car she will suddenly out of nowhere scream at the top of her lungs, and hurry and say "sorry" before we can even respond. That's pretty funny too. Just tonight as we were eating dinner I was telling her she had to eat 2 more bites before she could finish. She did, but then became distracted and kept eating a little. So when she struggled to get down again, I tried my luck and said "one more bite and then your done babes". She very seriously looked at me and said "no" so I said "one more bite please" to which she responded "no, 2 more bites." Daddy and I both agreed that was a deal! hahahah! Also tonight we were saying prayers and Adi was in the process of asking for blessings. Sometimes we guide her in what to say, other times she just decides herself what to be thankful for, and what to bless. Sometimes its certain family, or princess jammies, or babies etc. Tonight she was blessing what she wanted, and out of nowhere decided to "bless poopie". Daddy and I (as reverent as we tried to remain) couldn't help it and burst out laughing. What a personality she has.
Anyway, if you made it through all of that reading, thanks. I like to brag about my little babes. She is so sweet, and really brightens up our days...in fact, I think she brightens up everybody she meets. A talent I suppose. So I hope you enjoyed the little glimpse of who she is, and why we love her so much! Love you Adi!

I love Adi so much and I'm grateful that I've been closer and gotten to spend more time with her. She is a special girl with such a different, sweet personality. I was in the car with Caleb and Adi one day when she screamed, then said, "sorry." I think she did it four or five times and I got such a kick out of it. I love her so much. I can't wait to see Emersyn.

I love this post! You are the sweetest mom (and dad, of course) ever! She is one lucky little girl to be loved so much. And yes, I do believe your child is VERY intelligent! Not to put my own kid down, but Quincy is 10 months older, and just barely getting to that level of speaking! what a smarty-pants she is!

So cute! Too bad we don't live close-our girls would probably get along talking eachother's ears off!:) How exciting to only have 2weeks left, good luck!

She is such a doll - what a cutie. As far as "bragging", I think it's a mom's right to brag about their kids! Adi's going to be such a good big sister, isn't she? She'll probably be right in there helping to change diapers and everythiing! :) You asked where the site is that I got the idea for the job boards. It is www.accountablekids.com

Ok, 1st how did I not know that you guys were back on the blogging scene? I have to say although we've never met, I was quite sad about your departure. It was fun to get to know you (& Caleb too, since I haven't seen him in years). So, glad you are back. Now that that's been said, 2nd You're right! Adi does talk as much as Yazee. They would have a good time together! Yazee is always surprising us at how smart she is. (Atleast, we think she's so smart!) It blows me away that she's only 20 mos old and can do the things she does. It'll be interesting to see what my little one does. I'm sure you feel the same. I love the name you guys chose for her! My sister just had a baby & that name was high on her list. We still have yet to nail down a name. Isn't that the saddest thing you've ever heard? I never thought that picking another girl name would be so hard! I have a week, right?! Funny, we could have babies on the same day. Crazy!
