YNP fun
So the other day Caleb and I decided to make a trip to Yellowstone. It was just a quick day trip, but we saw and did a lot. Adi really enjoyed her time. She just loves animals and nature. She was so funny the whole time saying "hello buffalo" or "love you chip monk". Said just like that too. Funny. As we drove she was sure to spot something new at all times. Mostly it was "momma! A geyser!" She thought they were great, especially good "old faithful". Enjoy some pics.
This is the first Elk we saw. Adi was thrilled, and of course gave her 5 star cheesiest smile ever!
Caleb and Adi in front of some water falls. I don't like heights or anything dangerous like that, but her and her dad have no fear when it comes to that. She would walk right out to the edge and throw rocks in nearly giving her mother a heart attack!
Some deer on the side of the road. A ranger was there to make sure you didn't get to close because they were literally right there. He was trying to enforce a 25 yd. radius.
This is a funny story. This buffalo was at a picnic center, and wasn't moving, and all of the other people around were just eating like nothing out of the ordinary was going on. So Caleb and I pulled right up to it thinking it was real, and then after watching it, we decided it was fake. So we got out to take Adi over to it, and lo and behold it starts moving! Look how close we were. It was unreal. Don't ask me why we thought it was fake...who knows. It was just eerie how calm the thing was!
Same calm buffalo.
Adi with Daddy at the geysers. She thought the geysers were cool, and enjoyed spotting them everywhere. Now that we've been home everytime we drive by a burning field or something she yells "momma, a geyser!"
Good Old Faithful. Still as cool as you remember it!
She was fasinated by the carved animals in West Yellowstone, and loved to hug and ride them.
On the moose saying "Moooook" because that's what a moose says don't you know?
Riding the bear....a little confused look as to why she's not going anywhere?

mitchell (Ian's on the loose again. He loves to type and now wants me to type his name. Ian. I have no willpower to resist his charms.) Anyway, what a fun trip! I have wanted to go to Yellowstone for forever (blast those 1000 miles between us), so I'm glad someone is enjoying it for me. What a darling Adi is in all those pictures, but I have to say, in that last picture, of her riding the bear, she looks so grown up! I thought we agreed you weren't going to let her grow up till I got to witness it? :)
I love the buffalo story! You guys are such tourists, I love it! (and I mean that in the very best way possible. Trust me!) Way to go on doing a family trip. That's what we need to be doing.
Adi is so cute! I swear she's advanced. Can she really be talking like that? I guess we need to get together. Seems like she's growing right up and I haven't even seen it happening!
Very cute pictures of you all. Can't wait to see your new one! 15 days, huh?!
I'm so glad you guys were able to take a trip before that new baby comes! It looked like you guys had a lot of fun--we need to take a little family trip too! The pictures are so fun, especially the one's with Adi--how can you not love that girl!
What fun! Dan and I really need to take a trip to Yellowstone. Were there no rangers protecting people from the buffalo? Aren't those things, ya know, dangerous?!
We went to Yellowstone when Hannah was only three months old. I'd love to go back now that my kids can enjoy it! Glad you guys had fun!
What a fun little trip! We love Yellowstone! It is such a beautiful place. I wish we lived a little closer. I feel like it is such a long drive. How far from you is it? Adi is such a little cutie. I can't believe how much she says! How old is she?
When we went 3 years ago, Ben pulled onto a side road because he wanted to get video footage of a buffalo that was at the edge of a field, near a bunch of trees. We parked on the other side of the trees from where it was. Ben left me and the kids in the van and he took off through the trees with the video camera. Next thing I know, I see him climbing a tree! The buffalo was coming in towards him, and it was too close for him to run to the van! Luckily, a tree was leaning over onto another tree and thus was easy to climb. He had to wait a while until the buffalo left. I was not happy with Ben - I didn't know whether to scold him for being crazy or hug him for not getting gored by a buffalo! Your buffalo story brought those memories back. It looks like you guys had a great time! Cute pictures!
How blessed we are to have digital cameras! You are catching all the memories that we lost when our little ones were growing up. Thanks for sharing your trip with us.
I love the look of your blog!!
Any more contractions? I have my running shoes by my bed for that trip in the middle of the night!! :)
Fun trip. I love Yellowstone. How far is it from your place?
I live about an hour and 45 minutes away. Pretty nice!
