I just got on our blog to post a.... posting? (Whatever the term is? I guess post the posting will work) and our playlist was playing... oh good gracious! How redundant! Anyway, the song Fade Into You was on. It got me thinking that I hope we still get our picks of music when in Heaven. (I realize that is presumptuous of me, cuz I may not make it to Heaven with my Gladiator-type fetish, if you know what I mean "wink, wink"). Cuz I do not know what I would do without Mazzy Star, and ESPECIALLY Fade Into You. It has been one of my most favorite songs for as long as I can remember... or at least for 15 years. I could listen to it 10 times in a row, and then push the track-back button and have another go 10 times. Tori Amos is another artist that just somehow works for me every single time. There are some artists that are fads-of-the-time, and there are others who are simply everlasting. I won't list all of them, cuz frankly, a few on my personal list could be considered appalling (spl?) by many. (I have at least managed to slip a
few in on this playlist without Ash getting
too upset. You know that look - the one that says, "Okay... I'll let this one slide, but you are still in trouble, bucko." :-) )
To sum up, if you don't know about Mazzy Star: Fade Into You, I suggest you expose yourself to it. And if you don't care for it, well then, I suggest you listen to it a few more times. It will come. I assure you. It will come. And then follow it with Sneaker Pimps: Six Underground.
Yours Trully,
Have a good summer,
I hated having you in Science Class but I am signing your yearbook regardless and I don't know why,
-Caleb

You are way too quirky. And I hear that "fade into you" song so much!!! So, I guess if you do listen to it enough, it does start to work for you, because I kind of like it too now. Don't get all cocky now...it's just one song that I like of yours.
Quirky? What is that? Some kind of a bird? I prefer "Smooth", "Suave", "Handsome", or "Superman".
And you KNOW there are more songs than one that I have converted you to. Don't deny it! I am calling you out! Bring it on!
-Caleb... I mean, "Suave Superman"
I have to agree with you on Tori Amos.
I love your banter, you two. What fun you have with each other!
Caleb, you crack me up! You must have Ash laughing all of the time!
Hmmm....fun post Caleb. I am glad you have found the music that works for you, and I have liked SOME of the songs you introduce me to. This particular one I don't think I even know. But you know me. I can't get too far past Beethoven and Rachmoninoff!! :)
I do love your sountracks - except maybe that Fifth Element one. That one still has me puzzled. :)
You all have a wonderful day.
Caleb--watch for an email from me! "I got something to say and then I ain't gonna say no more!" What is that from?? Man, that bad grammar really got me. I could hardly type it. He he!!
I wasn't sure who was writing this until I got to the "may not make it to Heaven" part, and then I knew. Ha ha! J/K.
I think, as far as music is concerned, I am fairly well rounded. My playlists consist of a widely unusual array of songs. But no rap. Absolutely no rap. I won't go that far.
Oh, Caleb, you are too funny. I do think you would get pretty bored with my music though, but that's okay. To each his own, right?
Oh contrair (sp?), Amanda, I can headbang to your kind of music just as easily as I can to Def Tones. By the way... what is your kind of music?
-Caleb
I like very, very mellow. Like Il Divo, Sissel, etc. I guess with having five kids I need something relaxing to soothe my frazzled mind! :)
Oh, yeah, I really like Josh Groban too.
Caleb, I haven't heard that song, but I'll give it a try. I have fond memories of headbanging with you, so I suppose I ought to try it out again!
Caleb, I really like that song "Fade into You" as well. It has a relaxing, romantic sound to it. I also really like the song you have on here that goes, "You're baby blues, so full of wonder...safe, in my arms..." I really LOVE that one. You've got some strange tastes in music, but you also have some great tastes in music! Love you Bro!
After reading this post I had to find that song on your play list. When it started Ruby came straight over to the computer, started singing and dancing. I guess she likes it. :-) Thus far, Ruby is a music lover, she will dance and sing to almost any music.
