On Friday this last week we decided to finally get going on the potty training thing with Adelynn. We've been off and on for several months now, but never really pushing it. She has been ready for quite a while, but I've been putting it off for one reason or another(I know, bad). But Friday when she jumped out of the bath to grab her own diaper and go "poopy" I realized I better get a go on it. My first impressions were "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" I thought it was going to be a nightmare. But seriously, I've lucked out in the kid department. She went straight from a crib to bed no problem, she has always slept so well with naps and through the night, and now potty-training has been a breeze. The pull-ups weren't a great thing for her, so she just went straight to panties, and she LOVED picking those out. She's had a total of 2 accidents. 1 was at my sister-in-law's Bec's house, and I think that was because she was playing hard with cousins, and she didn't know to tell Bec. The second one was just an accident here at the house, and she was devastated when it happened, big crocodile tears and all. The poopy thing had her nervous, and I had to give her a pedi-lax and just sit her on the potty to help her out after 3 days of holding it in because she was so scared, but since then she has been very excited and proud to be a big girl! She goes by herself all the time, and will then come get us and tell us how excited she is. She even has been waking herself up at night if she has to go. She's staying dry through naps and all night etc. We stopped by Bec's house the other night, and she was off with Brand-man playing. Then she came and got Bec and said "Bec, I went pee-pee." And sure enough she'd just walked into the bathroom like a big girl and gone! I'm so proud of her. She's doing great! One funny thing is the other day before nap she had gone, and then when I was laying her down she said "I need to go again." So I told her OK, and then she looked at me very seriously and said "I'm going to need a book for this one!" HAHAHA, she makes me laugh! I snuck a picture because it was so cute.
We've decided that we are going to leave both girls for our trip to Cancun. I am nervous about this...very nervous, but I am also VERY EXCITED! Caleb and I away together? Are you serious? AH! So wonderful! I am pumping right now to save as much milk as possible, and then I will continue to pump while I am down there. My friend Christi that I was telling you about, she thinks that Emersyn won't have a problem taking me back because she will be 7 months old, and very aware of the difference between a bottle and her mommy. I hope she's right. I decided to try cereal again though, in hopes that she will start liking other things besides just milk while I am gone, and make it a little easier on those that will be helping. Here are the results...
She loved it! She got mad at me when it was all gone, and I had to make more. Look at those cheeks though, you can tell she's not a light eater! :)

Why don't you just go ahead and RUB it in? Haha! No, that's awesome that Adi is doing so well with the potty training. I have heard that girls are easier. Let's hope mine is! That's hilarious that she asked for a book! What a hoot that girl is! And Emi is getting so darn cute. I love the picture with the cookie. You can totally tell she's just into her mommy and doesn't care about what she's holing. And don't worry, I would have eaten the cookie, too!
I'm glad that Adi is doing so well with the potty training! That's so nice--she's such a good girl! Emi is such a cutie, I love the picture of her cute smile! I'm so excited for you and Caleb's trip--you guys will have so much fun! BTW, I like your background :)
Go Adi! You are so lucky to have such an easy kid. And that little Emersyn is A DOLL!! Oh my gosh she's soooo cute! Save her for Mason, would ya? I want to kiss her cute little cheeks!! Really...I do. I think she'll be just fine while you go on your trip. Did I mention how jealous I am? Lucky Duck!
I am sooooooooooo jealous about the whole potty training thing. I wish I could say it is going that well for Tyler but I would be lying. You have it so lucky! What cute girls! I am also soooooo jealous of your little getaway with your husband. How fun for you guys. I am sure Emersyn will do great. That is great that you enjoy nursing. I am always looking for an excuse to ween my kids. I am not a big fan of nursing. Sounds like things are going really good for you guys.
Yea! For Adi. Sounds like she is doing great! I am glad Emi likes cereal now! I love that smile. Mom and I are so excited to come over and help with the girls while you are gone! I would be mad if you were taking them. :) This way I get to have a little fun to!
Your girls are darling! And their names are so unique, I guess I didn't realize that I have never known their names ha ha. I love them! It sounds like your Valentine's Day was fun. We went to an adult ward dinner on the 13th and it was a lot of fun. We're brand new in the ward so it was nice being able to get to know people better. Darling girls you have!
Potty training really can be easy if they want to do it. I thought Brennen was going to be tough, but I just had to wait 6 months longer than my girls. I've had no problems with it. Hopefully my last will continue a good streak huh! I've had your vinyl cut for forever now, I'm just trying to get Micah to cut some boards. I'll let ya know when he does it....hopefully tomorrow!
Way to go Adi! I'm so proud of you! And Emi, you are breathtakingly beautiful. Wow. So totally cute!
I am serously going to send Kason over to potty train, especially since he is poopy right now. Maybe he will even learn a few new words. My mom ordered the same cookies and it was the messiest frosting ever! The girls are soo cute!! I love looking at your pictures!
Lily has been great with everything too except potty training. She is just too scared and I don't know what to do about it. We have been on again off again for the past couple months but I just need to get it done because I am going crazy. I can't believe how amazing Adi was. That is awesome.
Cute pictures of the girls and their big cookies! They are getting so big! I'm totally jealous of your trip to Cancun! Sounds so nice! And I think you are making the right decision leaving the kids home. It is tough, but you will have such a great time just you and Caleb.
Way to go Adi on the potty training too! I am so impressed with that little thing!
Those cookies were so cute! Adi and Emi are just as cute as ever, too! And, congratulations on the potty-training! That is such a huge milestone! I also love the book. What a funny little girl. :)
Ok, so I read your earlier post first so you can disregard that comment (below) about your trip to Cancun. Anyway, if I weren't afraid of popping a lung coughing I'd be laughing hysterically right now over Adi wanting a book for her trip to the toilet. She definitely has it down! Ha ha ha! So how long was she there really? :)
Love the pictures of the girls. Cute as ever.
I am NOT having as much luck on potty training. Unfortunately, my kids aren't ready.
Have fun on your trip.
Way to go Adi! We think we might try more seriously with Nadia too. I'm glad you had such an easy time of it.
Emi, were you sad that Mommy ate your cookie? Just give it a little time, and your turn will come. Adi, it was fun playing with you Monday night. You are such a great little window jumper!
The book story is freaking HILARIOUS!!! Oh my word, what a doll. I'm glad she's doing so great!
YAY for a trip with the hubby. I hope you guys have so much fun. Your girls will be fine. It's good for them to "get away" for a while too. They are so adorable. I'm excited to see Cancun pic's!
Yeah for potty training! :) What cute girls you have and I am totally in ♥ with your blog background! SOOO cute!
