Catching up...

A LOT has been going on at my house lately. Nothing too exciting mind you, but it's sure been busy with the regular old everyday things. Valentines was fun. We went to a ward party because it was free dinner AND babysitting! Wahoo! (I know, we're lame.) It was nice though, and dinner was really great. WE were able to get the girls to bed early and watch some episodes of our latest obsession Prison Break. Good times:) The girls and Caleb each got a big cookie that I ordered from the young women's in our ward. They did a good job. Adi was thrilled and mostly just made a huge mess of the frosting!
Emersyn was thrilled too, but mostly just because mommy was smiling and talking to her. I just wanted a picture of her with it. Then I ate it. Cruel huh?

On Friday this last week we decided to finally get going on the potty training thing with Adelynn. We've been off and on for several months now, but never really pushing it. She has been ready for quite a while, but I've been putting it off for one reason or another(I know, bad). But Friday when she jumped out of the bath to grab her own diaper and go "poopy" I realized I better get a go on it. My first impressions were "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" I thought it was going to be a nightmare. But seriously, I've lucked out in the kid department. She went straight from a crib to bed no problem, she has always slept so well with naps and through the night, and now potty-training has been a breeze. The pull-ups weren't a great thing for her, so she just went straight to panties, and she LOVED picking those out. She's had a total of 2 accidents. 1 was at my sister-in-law's Bec's house, and I think that was because she was playing hard with cousins, and she didn't know to tell Bec. The second one was just an accident here at the house, and she was devastated when it happened, big crocodile tears and all. The poopy thing had her nervous, and I had to give her a pedi-lax and just sit her on the potty to help her out after 3 days of holding it in because she was so scared, but since then she has been very excited and proud to be a big girl! She goes by herself all the time, and will then come get us and tell us how excited she is. She even has been waking herself up at night if she has to go. She's staying dry through naps and all night etc. We stopped by Bec's house the other night, and she was off with Brand-man playing. Then she came and got Bec and said "Bec, I went pee-pee." And sure enough she'd just walked into the bathroom like a big girl and gone! I'm so proud of her. She's doing great! One funny thing is the other day before nap she had gone, and then when I was laying her down she said "I need to go again." So I told her OK, and then she looked at me very seriously and said "I'm going to need a book for this one!" HAHAHA, she makes me laugh! I snuck a picture because it was so cute.

We've decided that we are going to leave both girls for our trip to Cancun. I am nervous about this...very nervous, but I am also VERY EXCITED! Caleb and I away together? Are you serious? AH! So wonderful! I am pumping right now to save as much milk as possible, and then I will continue to pump while I am down there. My friend Christi that I was telling you about, she thinks that Emersyn won't have a problem taking me back because she will be 7 months old, and very aware of the difference between a bottle and her mommy. I hope she's right. I decided to try cereal again though, in hopes that she will start liking other things besides just milk while I am gone, and make it a little easier on those that will be helping. Here are the results...
She loved it! She got mad at me when it was all gone, and I had to make more. Look at those cheeks though, you can tell she's not a light eater! :)

Lucky, lucky!

My husband got entered into a drawing for a free trip at work because his store numbers were really good. I don't know all the details, but anyway, WE WON! We are going to Cancun Mexico for 8 days as of April 18th. I can't wait! They are paying for everything, and it even comes with unlimited tours of Theme parks, snorkeling, Zip lines, etc! In the package is also included a Buy 1 get 1 free-swim with the dolphins! Also included is 25% off any spa treatments or golfing green fees! Oh my heavens, are you kidding me? Lucky right? The place is immaculate. Double jacuzzi's in the room, decorated to the max, and outside there are tons of pools etc. Some of the pools even have swim up bars. At night there is Themed parties, and daily there are activities and things. Never in my life have I done ANYTHING like this, I am so excited!


Here is the down side. It is in 2 months, and Emersyn is only 5 months old. She will be 7 months old at the time of leaving. We will be leaving Adelynn with my sister Shana, because I think she will really enjoy being there. She loves her cousins Kira and Reese. But Emersyn...I can't decide what to do. Some people are saying leave her, don't take her. My friend and pediatric nurse Christi is saying we'll have more fun this way. Pump now, and she'll take a bottle while I'm gone. And then pump while I'm there, and my milk supply will last. All of you mothers out there, this is my call for help. I don't know what to do. Do you think if I pump while I'm gone my supply will last, and she will take me back when I get home? Or do you think my milk would dry up without her there to stimulate? Or do you think that whole end of things will be fine, but when I get back she won't want me, she'll just want a bottle? I'm pretty attached to her, and pretty attached to nursing. It's a very personal bond. I nursed Adelynn for 17 months (partly because she was really attached, and didn't want to stop) and I rather enjoyed the bond it created. I don't really want to lose this with Emersyn, but when I think of this vacation, I do think of LOTS OF PARTYING! Give me your thoughts on what would happen if we did leave her...(even thinking it breaks my little heart!)

The Last 2 Weeks

It's been a busy 2 weeks, and my internet has been down, so I haven't been able to blog about it. So sorry to those of you who have been waiting to see the whole reason it's been busy...Emersyn is here!It was a great Labor and Delivery. Everything went very smoothly, and I feel great. Just one contraction and 3 pushes, and Emersyn Sade Wall was born. How nice! She weighed 7 lbs 5 oz. was 20 inches long, and has a beautiful head of hair! HOORAY!Adelynn was so excited when we came home from the hospital and her baby sister was finally here. She kissed her and hugged her and pretty much attacked her. It was very sweet though. She is having a little bit of a time adjusting, but it isn't directed toward her sister at all. It's defiance directed toward her mommy, but she is very excited about "baby Emi".

After her first sponge bath. Eyes wide open and lookin' so cute!Grandma Witters spent the week with me taking care of any slack that I couldn't pick up. She was a huge help, and it was so fun to have her here as well! Emi looks pretty fond of her don't you think?It's a special privelage to be allowed in the "princess chair" and Adi was quick to make sure baby Emi got to sit with her in it. How nice of her to share!
And here is Adi occupying Daddy's time by making him play dress up. He'll be great with two little girls, don't you think? I love my two little girls!!!
Saying goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa. It was hard, but I managed to keep my tears in check until they left because I knew if I let myself go, I would never gain control, and wouldn't let my mom go!

Well, after Grandma left and I thought I was getting the hang of things, Emi's eye got infected, and then swelled up SO HUGE so we took her to the Doctor and found out both of her tear ducts are closed. An infection had backed up really bad into the left eye and when the doctor just barely touched it, puss oozed everywhere. Here is a pic of her eye when we first decided to take her to the Doc.
It was so sad. The doctor was very concerned because she is so little, and the infection can apparently get into her spinal column and cause all sorts of problems there, so she was sent straight to the hospital to get an IV for medicine.
We were there for 3 days and 2 nights, and it was pretty sad and quite stressful. And now that it is over, the stressful part isn't. One of the medicines she had to be on can cause hearing loss and kidney damage, so she has to go back in for a hearing test in the next few months I guess. So as if worrying about your newborn with paralysis isn't bad enough, they throw on ya hearing loss, and kidney damage. Gotta love doctors! Anyway, she is looking LOADS better now, and we are back home. She is on an oral antibiotic for the next 10 days, and we will monitor the closed tear ducts for the next 6 months. At least for now they don't have to be opened manually.
Well, there is a catch up of the last 2 weeks. Hopefully with our internet up and running I can keep you all better posted on my 2 little angels.
